Catla Macher Jhal




Hi ! friends, today i am going to make Katla macher jhal , another favourite dish of mine.


INGREDIENTS :

  1. Fish
  2. Curd
  3. Onion
  4. Ginger
  5. Garlic
  6. Green chilli
  7. Cumin seeds
  8. Dry red chilli
  9. Cardamom
  10. Cinnamon
  11. Cloves
  12. Bay leaves
  13. Cumin powder
  14. Turmeric powder
  15. Salt
  16. Red chilli powder
  17. Poppy seeds
  18. Mustard oil
  19. Water


HOW TO MAKE :
  • First marinate the 1 kg fish with turmeric powder, salt and lemon juice then keep a side.
  • Next make a paste with 10 cloves garlic, 2 onion, 7 green chilli, 1 inch ginger and make a paste and keep a side.
  • In a bowl add 200 gram curd, 1 and a half tsp cumin powder, 1 and a half tsp turmeric powder,1 tsp red chilli powder, salt to taste, poppy seed paste and mix them well then add a paste and mix them and keep a side.
  • Now a mustard oil in a pan  and fry all fish then in a same oil add 1 tsp cumin seeds, 2 bay leaves, 2 cinnamon, 4 cardamom, 3 cloves, 2 red dry chilli and fry slightly then add a mixture and mix them gently at a low flame then add little bit water and lid it at least 10 minutes at a low flame.
  • After 10 minutes add fry fish and again lid at least 6 minutes. After 6 minutes now its ready to eat with a rice.
